That’s a wrap on 2022! 

What a year! As 2022 comes to an end, we’re full of gratitude for a year that brought renewed energy and a wave of incredible new clients to Fluid as COVID-19 restrictions eased. After two challenging years, we are so thankful that we’re not only still here – we’re thriving!

Here, we’re taking a look back at some key moments and milestones from 2022 – and a look ahead at what’s coming up in 2023. 

Grand total of $14,785,169 raised for our clients in 2022!

As Canada began opening back up and in-person events once again became a safe option, people were eager to meet up, get involved with their favourite charities and make a difference. The Fluid team jumped into full swing, planning and organizing galas, walk/runs, talks, cocktail events and more! 

When all was said and done, our clients had collectively raised an incredible $14,785,169 through Fluid-produced events –– a record-breaking year for us, and a life-changing result for some of Canada’s top charities. 

Seven new clients joined the Fluid family

This year, we were honoured to welcome seven amazing organizations to the Fluid family! We could not have been more delighted to work with North York General Hospital Foundation, Humber River Hospital Foundation, William Osler Health System, Canadian Women’s Foundation, LEAF, Trillium Health Partners and MCIS Language Solutions for the very first time this year. 

 We can’t wait to help these impactful non-profits continue driving change for people and communities in 2023 and beyond. 

We broke records and new ground for some of our longest-standing clients 

For two of our longest-standing clients, 2022 was a record-breaking year! 

At Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada Gala – Teddy Bear Affair, more than 900 guests gathered at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre to raise funds for children and youth involved with the child welfare system. 

With a powerful performance by youth with lived experience serving as the centrepiece of this remarkable event, guests gave generously to help change lives. By the end of the night, an astounding $2.4 million had been raised –– smashing every record in the gala’s 36-year history!

Over at True Patriot Love Foundation, we broke new ground by taking the True Patriot Love Annual Tribute Dinner national for the first time ever. With four spectacular dinners taking place in three different cities across Canada simultaneously, this year’s event was a true celebration of Canada’s military members. 

From performances by military bands to a moving rendition of “O Canada” sung by veterans, the evening marked an exciting new era for this beloved event and the current and former military members it supports. Did we mention that it also raised a record-breaking $1.18 million?

We launched a bold new look and website 

With the same look since Fluid was founded in 2015, it was time for a refresh as we shook off COVID-19 restrictions and boldly stepped into the future! 

In September, we officially launched a beautiful new website and brand that showcases Fluid’s role as the only event agency in North America working exclusively with non-profits. 

Our website is also a platform for knowledge sharing about event planning best practices, so keep checking back for new tips and insights rooted in years of experience! 

The Fluid team grew –– and will keep growing in 2023! 

As our roster of clients continues to rapidly grow, so too does the Fluid team. In 2022, we were excited to welcome four wonderful new staff members on board –– and sad to say goodbye to a long-time member of the Fluid team. 

Judi Steadman was with Fluid Events for five years, most recently as Director of Events & Sponsorship. Judi has joined one of our longest-standing clients, Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada, as their new Senior Manager, Corporate & Community Partnerships. Fun fact: Sabrina Roy, Fluid’s founder and CEO, and Judi first met while working at Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada nearly a decade ago! 

We wish Judi all the very best on her new chapter!

The past 12 months brought so many unforgettable moments of impact, progress and creativity to Fluid and our clients. We could not be prouder of the work we’re doing together to change the world through the power of inspiring events – and we can’t wait for what’s to come in 2023. 

In the year ahead, we’re looking forward to continuing to expand our client family and our staff team, pushing the boundaries of event production and delivering even more record-breaking results.
